Stann was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and attended Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Twice! He has been coaching swimming (including instructing) for over 45 years! For Stann, there are so many reasons to love this sport, but mostly it's all the people he’s met along the way. Stann has been swimming since he was a kid. He learned to swim and competed with Bon Air in the summers. Stann eventually found himself swimming at Briarwood and was a state champion, state all star and state record holder! Since then Stann has coached 14 teams, including 6 summer league teams. When Stann isn’t at the pool he is a practicing artist! Wanna see? Stannbaileyart.com
